Parenting can be exciting and rewarding but it comes with its share of worries and challenges too. Many parents wonder how best to feed their baby. Will I be able to breastfeed? Will I have enough milk? How do I know if my baby is getting enough? Is formula bad?
Feeding your baby doesn't just provide nourishment, it creates a bonding experience between you and your child. Studies show that affection and attachment during the first years of life helps reduce social and behavioural struggles in children, and these benefits carry into their adult life.
If you are experiencing pain, difficulties latching, milk supply issues, infant growth concerns or just need someone to provide reassurance- I’m here for you! Together we can create an individualized feeding plan that meets you where you are in your feeding journey, is specific to your needs, and sets you on the right path towards success.
I’m here to answer your questions, calm your worries and help you and your baby get the best start by achieving your feeding goals. I am a strong advocate for family-centered care and value mommy’s intuition- after all… mommy knows breast!
Hello! I'm Jasmine,
I found my passion for infant and maternal health 14 years ago while working as a registered nurse in a postpartum unit. I enjoyed supporting new parents and their babies but often wondered how they were doing once discharged. I then moved on to become a community nurse and I have worked in both urban and rural areas. I love that my job allows me to provide continued support for families throughout their postpartum and early childhood years.
I have travelled to many countries and noted that while Canada has unlimited access to information and research on feeding recommendations, we lack the physical support needed for the mom- baby dyad to carry out these recommendations. I became an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant because I recognized the need for further education and support within the maternal and infant community. Parents appreciate the personalized care that I am able to provide in the comfort of their own home. I am dedicated and passionate about helping parents to create the best start possible for their family!
When I'm not at work, you can find me horseback riding at the barn, kayaking in the mountains. or just out connecting with nature. I love spending time with my family and participating in community events at my Church.
